The official Germany currency is Euro; One Euro consists of 100 Cent.

ATM’s abound, credit cards are widely accepted, and it’s a good idea to have cash with you as well.

For Germany there are two associated plug types, types C and F. Plug type C is the plug which has two round pins and plug type F is the plug which has two round pins with two earth clips on the side. Germany operates on a 230V supply voltage and 50Hz.

If you are taking prescription medication, we recommend that you bring enough to last your entire trip. Be aware that German law prohibits the mailing or shipment of drugs, including prescription medicines, to private persons in Germany from the US or other foreign countries. However, if you are carrying prescribed medicine with you while traveling to Germany that is permitted.

Normally nationals of non-Schengen countries should apply for a Germany Visa to enter Germany.

According to Germany foreign affairs rules, citizens of some countries are permitted to enter Germany visa-free or remain there for a maximum period of 90 days (3 months) within a 180 days period.

With a valid ticket, ticket holders have access to all public transport in Berlin: S-Bahn, U-Bahn, buses, trams and ferries. The fare depends on the tariff zone and the ticket’s period of validity.

Day Ticket for one Person:

A day ticket (Tageskarte) allows travelling during the whole day for as many trips as desired. Transportation fares for up to three children aged six to fourteen are included in the ticket price. The ticket is valid from its the day of its validation until 3 a.m. the following day and costs 7 Euros in tariff zone AB, reduced 4.70 Euros, and 7.70 Euros in tariff zone ABC, reduced 5.30 Euros.
