Emily Spitzman, PhD, associate professor of TESOL at Bridgewater State University, researches social justice in teacher preparation, intercultural communication and linguistic awareness among teachers. Previously, she taught English to immigrants, refugees and international students. Most recently, she has been embedding anti-racist and anti-bias approaches in international experiences for teacher candidates.
