Dr. Vladimir Shapiro is an Assistant Teaching Professor at Northeastern University in Boston, where he has taught graduate and undergraduate courses in data analytics, statistics, machine learning, and artificial intelligence since 2019. His current research examines the parallels between how AI models learn and how people learn, and turns them into practical approaches to teaching, feedback, and assessment. He has explored different facets of this work in a paper at the 4th Paris Conference on Education (2025) and in presentations at the 5th International Education Conference and the 4th International Conference on Teaching and Education (2026). Before joining Northeastern, he spent over 30 years in research, development, and management roles in finance, biomedical research, energy, software, and forensic science. He holds a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the Technical University of Sofia, Bulgaria, and an M.B.A. from the University of Phoenix, USA. He has authored more than 60 scientific publications and patents.
